Ion Hue Brilliance, not Manic Panic, was the first hair dye line I ever used when I finally made the decision to color my hair a crazy color. It was prepared for use, cheaper, and it had the pink shade I liked. Nothing else needs to be combined. But is it effective, durable, and pigmented? To find out if Ion Color Brilliance is the best hair dye for you, read this review.
But keep in mind that because this is a pastel tint, it will only work on light hair. If you have dark hair, as I do, you must bleach it, preferably to a level 10 blonde, since pastel colors, particularly the pink shade, can be challenging. I made a mistake there because my complexion at the time still had a slight yellow tone.
What is it?
Ion Color Brilliance is a cream hair dye that is semi-permanent and lasts for up to two weeks. They guarantee to offer you a hair color that is bright and daringly powerful. Hyaluronic Acid, Argan Oil, Pequi Oil, and botanicals are added to Ion’s compositions, which are PPD-free and nourish and fortify hair from the inside out. Additionally, they assert that ion hair dye Color is gentle on hair because it contains up to 38% less ammonia than the top professional brands available.
Performance
APPLICATION: You have two options for applying this to pre-lightened hair: 1) Pour the mixture into a bowl and work it into each area of your hair with a brush. Alternatively, as the product is ready to use, you can put on plastic gloves, squeeze them onto your hands, and then apply them directly to your pre-lightened hair.
SCENT: It genuinely has a lovely perfume, making it the nicest scented hair dye I’ve ever used!
PACKAGING: It is packaged in an aluminum tube akin to toothpaste, and the box kind of cutely displays the color of the hair dye.
RESULTS: My hair didn’t truly become the pink color I like; instead, it’s more like a blorange compared to the advertisement shot above the product photo. But I was aware of how difficult pastel hair colors were before I colored my hair. Fortunately, I ended up enjoying the color.
My hair wasn’t “vivid and boldly-intense” rose pink, but I guess that’s also because one tube was supposed to color medium-length hair, but it didn’t! The product is insufficient for the length of my hair, so I must use every last drop.
Verdict
PROS: It’s ready to use, inexpensive, and has a wonderful scent.
CONS: For medium-length hair, one tube is insufficient; in fact, someone once told me that even two tubes are insufficient. They don’t actually have a lot of pigment. For me, it lasted less than a week rather than up to two weeks.
Will I repurchase this? I doubt it, but I do suggest it for those who are hesitant to commit to daring hair color.
Where can I buy it?
My Ion Color Brilliance hair dye cost me Php550 from Rainbowhead. However, you could also purchase it for $5.99 at Sally Beauty Supply.
